The Governing Body consists of senior monks of the Ramkrishna Order, chosen by a process of nomination-cum-election and other members who are competent people from various professional fields. Authority for ownership of property belonging to different Mission centre in India, appointment of heads of centre, legal transactions, etc are vested in the Governing Body, which also takes major policy decisions pertaining to the whole Ramkrishna Vedanta Ashram.
Ramkrishna Vedanta Ashram is administered by a Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees has an elected President, Secretary, Assistant Secretary and a Treasurer.
The Ramkrishna Vedanta Ashram is administered by a Governing Body, which is composed of the Trustees of Ramkrishna Vedanta Ashram. The headquarters of Ramkrishna Vedanta Ashram is at Vivekanandapur, South 24 Parganas (popularly known as Maynagarh).
All correspondences regarding administrative matters of the Ashram are to be addressed to the Secretary, who functions as the chief executive.
A branch centre of Ramkrishna Vedanta Ashram has as its head an Adhyaksha appointed by the Trustees.
The Governing Body also constitutes the Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees of Ramakrishna Vedanta Ashram and the Governing Body of Ramakrishna Vedanta Ashram exercise their administrative functions through a set of office bearers elected by them for a certain period. The main office bearers are Precident, Secretary, Assistant Secretary and Treasurer.

The policies and decisions in the Ashram are framed on scientifically designed and tested system. It is based on four tier system. All members of the governing body actively participate in policy and decision making.
