The Ramkrishna Vedanta Ashram places utmost importance on personal spiritual development and selfless service. The driving force behind all our activities has been, humbly following the sacred footsteps of Swami Vivekananda, who lived his entire life in establishing Universalism and Harmony and for the realization of Eternal Truth, which has been the essence of India’s ancient spiritual philosophy known as Vedanta. In his words, “The essence of Vedanta is that there is but one Being and that every soul is that Being in full, not a part of that Being”. Vedanta does not stand for one comprehensive or unifying doctrine, rather it is an umbrella term for many sub-traditions. Vedanta remained as the dominant philosophy of India’s religious legacy from ancient Vedic period to the present age. The thoughts and teachings of Vedanta in modern era has been consolidated, vitalized and made lucid by Sri Ramakrishna, the spiritual master of Swami Vivekananda, and was expounded in modern idiom by Swami Vivekananda and made available to all humans without any discrimination of cast creed or race.

The ashram is more than a foster father and mother for those ‘fallen’ children. Its ultimate motto is to give those children a positive hope for living a normal life. Apart from these things the ashram is also involved in various socio economic activities for the benefit of the sociallydistressed people.
